HitchBOT the Hitchhiking Robot

Summary: A hitchhiking robot is attempting to travel across Canada relying on the kindness (and curiosity) of strangers. The tiny talking robot has embarked on what is hoped to be a 6,000 km trek from Halifax to Victoria. HitchBOT is entirely dependent on human beings for its survival. It's part of a Canadian research project looking into the evolving relationship between people and technology that was developed by professors David Harris Smith of McMaster University and Frauke Zeller of Ryerson University.
