Voyage of the Black Dragon

MacIntyre, Linden (journalist). Ho, Theresa (producer). Vickery, Claude (director). Ayotte-Thompson, Brigitte (production coordinator). Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Added Author). Journalist: MacIntyre, Linden. (Cast).

Summary: It was a desperate gamble: more than 130 Chinese migrants spent months in squalid conditions below the deck of an old fishing boat, risking their lives for a chance for a better life in America. But those dreams were defeated when the crew of the Black Dragon left them stranded on a remote island off the coast of British Columbia in 1999. Their arrival sparked an immigration crisis and a push to send them back to China. But one little girl, found shivering in her pink pyjamas, became the human face of their struggle to find a new home. The Fifth Estate’s Linden MacIntyre goes looking for that little girl and finds out what happened to some other survivors, 14 years after their perilous journey began.
