Summary: In September 2012, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a notice informing Canadians not to eat beef products produced at XL Foods near Edmonton, Alberta. The CFIA had been made aware that there was a problem when a beef shipment being trucked across the border into the United States was identified as contaminated by the U.S. Food Safety Inspection Service.
