Voices from the Brink : The Cuban Missile Crisis

Summary: The Cuban Missile Crisis brought the world to the brink of nuclear war. Recently released audio recordings from October 1962 of U.S. President John Kennedy and his chief advisors allow a dramatic new look at what actually happened during those tense days. Played against dramatic footage from the era, we hear how Kennedy stood up to relentless pressure to go to war. We now know that some of their calculations were shockingly mistaken, and that the world was much closer to nuclear war than we ever knew.
