Pollution Fight : Saving a Quebec River November 2005

Summary: Canada is known for its many beautiful rivers, including some of the finest salmon rivers in the world. But these days many of those rivers are heavily polluted, and the fish are nowhere to be seen. Some of those rivers are so polluted that cleaning them up can seem like an impossible task. But there are some success stories. In this News in Review story we'll look at how a small group of environmentalists set out to rescue Quebec's Etchemin River. We'll show how they battled the big polluters, and years of neglect, to bring the river back to life again.
