Summary: In a poignant look at the Alberta Tar Sands project and the community of Fort McMurray, Alberta, David Suzuki investigates the development of the largest oil deposit outside of Saudi Arabia, the environmental impact, and effects on the local Mikisew Cree First Nations population. This program explores the effects of oil sands development on local and global environments, and on the city of Fort McMurray. It also asks viewers to think critically about the role and responsibility of governments, oil companies, and consumers.
