Summary: This summer, Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion introduced a plan to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions. The plan would place a new tax on carbon. Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservatives immediately attacked the plan, calling it a tax grab that would make gasoline even more expensive. In this News in Review story we’ll look at the carbon tax debate and explain why it could become a big election issue.
