The Rohingya Crisis : Is this Ethnic Cleansing? November 2017

Summary: The Rohingya people have been described as the most persecuted minority in the world. They are an ethnic group of about one million who have lived for centuries in Myanmar – formerly Burma. They are not considered citizens and many are of the Muslim faith. In the summer of 2017 hundreds of thousands of Rohingya fled their homes, headed for Bangladesh. This came after the Myanmar military began a crackdown on what they called insurgents. Refugees claim their villages were burned to the ground, many of the men were killed and the women and girls raped. With nearly 900,000 stateless refugees displaced, what happens now?
