Summary: This program provides a powerful examination of the forces that have contributed to the dismantling of the American economy. The program is based on the research of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Donald L. Barlett and James B. Steele, who spent two years interviewing workers in nearly 50 cities in 16 states and Mexico, as well as government officials and corporate managers. The program features Donald Barlett and James Steele, as well as interviews with workers who have lost jobs as American industry has undergone change over the past few years. Among those interviewed are Barbara Ehrenreich, author of Fear of Falling; Susan Lee, an economist at the American Enterprise Institute; and Ed Rubenstein, an economic analyst at the National Review.
