Black Market Firearms : How Illegal Guns Get Into Canada April 2020

Summary: Our streets in Canada are still quite safe, but gun crime is increasing. Much of the growth is attributed to gun and gang violence in larger cities like Toronto. Handgun homicides accounted for more than half of all murders in Canada in 2018, according to Statistics Canada. So, where are criminals getting all these guns? Police estimate about half the illegal handguns on the streets have been smuggled into the country, most over the U.S. border. And criminals are coming up with more creative ways of getting them in.
