China's Influence : Espionage, 5G and National Security Risks March 2022

Summary: The Canadian government will soon announce whether it will give Huawei, a major Chinese technology company, access to building our next generation 5G network. For its part, Huawei has long been suspected of having ties with the Chinese government. That's why Ottawa's decision could have serious, long lasting effects on national security and the threat from foreign interference. That concern is very real as China has a history of industrial espionage in this country.
