The People at Dipper

Gilbert, Richard, (film director.). Ofield, Jack, (film director.). Gilbert, Richard, (film producer.). National Film Board of Canada (Montreal), (film producer.).

Summary: A 1966 film showing life among the Chipewyan from a reserve in northern Saskatchewan, where new ways of living do not conflict with traditional activities. The film pictures the life of Moise MacIntyre, who could leave if he wished, but is satisfied with the lake and its fish and the game in the woods around. Far from rich in the monetary sense, these people have a feeling of community that makes up for what they otherwise lack.
