Summary: The fifth of a 5 part videorecording describing life on the Esketemc-Shuswap First Nations reserve on Alkali Lake, in the Central Caribou, near Williams Lake, B.C. Mike, now in a Vancouver hospital and dying of AIDS, tapes a final message for his funeral video, while elders Norma and Ivy begin their ritual preparations for the May Vision Quest. Sioux elders arrive to supervise the individuals who will spend four nights alone on a mountain without food or water. Megga prepares for Mike's return to the reserve to die. Young Kirk has a hockey tryout, and Debbie has a healing circle with the man she believes to be Kirk's father. Mike dies and, at his funeral, his video is shown. The funeral brings the factions on the reserve together.
