Design in Our Lives : Business Meets Aesthetics [videorecording] / Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Take a look around you. Almost everything you see started out as an idea in someone's mind. In today's fast-paced and constantly changing world the process of designing and the role of designers is being redefined. How to make objects and space around us more engaging is the job of today's designers. This program looks into the studio environments of Bruce Mau, Karim Rashid and Frank Gehry, three internationally known Canadian designers whose work features a crossover of disciplines. In these highly charged studios, anything can be designed. Spaces, objects, sounds, products, cinema – the possibilities are endless. The designs are about clarity and accessibility, but business savvy is as important to the job as aesthetics.
