Up Close and Toxic [videorecording] / Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Up Close & Toxic reveals that the great indoors is not as safe as we've been lulled into thinking. A relatively new area of scientific research is investigating our interior lifestyles and making a number of surprising discoveries. The study of indoor pollutants indicates that we are very much exposed to toxic agents in places where we would least expect them. In classic sit-com style, with actors playing a fictional North American family, this program tells a cautionary tale about these environmental dangers that are literally right under our noses! As they make their way through the day, the "family" encounters everyday objects that are potentially harmful to them. Three experts acting as "friendly ghosts", appear to the audience to inform them whenever a pollutant is discovered which turns out to be often!
