The first ones : readings in Indian/Native studies.

Summary:

The field of Indian/Native Studies in North America has benefited from several streams of development. The demands for opening curricula to the voices of Aboriginal Canadians and Native Americans led first to the founding of departments and programs in the 1960s, amd later to post-secondary educational institutions. Interdiciplinary approaches from more traditional academic sources forged the useful paradigms of "ethnohistory," "political economy," "ethnic studies," and "new literary criticisms," with avenue of expression for indigenous perspectives.
